Certification and Listing Issues
One conference track focuses on certification and listing issues in major international
markets. There will be an introductory session highlighting the conditions and
hurdles for the introduction of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in Europe
and North America. This is followed by presentations devoted to stationary,
mobile and portable applications. The program is put together by Technology
Transition Corp Ltd. (UK) and Hydrogen Expo USA organizer Freesen & Partner,
who launched H2Expo in Hamburg in 2001. Individuals who are interested to submit
an abstract should contact Karen Hall at khall@ttcorp.com or Ines Freesen at
service@freesen.de.
Technology Demonstrations
Another key ingredient of H2Expo are the technology demonstrations. While in
the shows first year safety concerns were still an issue, H2Expo has made
it its mission to convince the local authorities that the technology was easy
and safe to use. Therefore, exhibitors now have the opportunity to demonstrate
their hydrogen-fueled products inside the exhibit hall. Car manufacturers will
be able to join the hydrogen vehicle ride & drive in front of the convention
center, in a location which draws great public attention. In Germany, H2Expo
is the only exhibition and conference which allows the actual use of hydrogen.
Because of this, media coverage has always been great for the event, which regularly
makes it to the news on TV.
Education and Outreach
The H2Expo program also includes site tours in the Hamburg region. This will
include a visit to a stationary fuel cell which has recently been installed
in the Hamburg Harbour City and a tour to the local hydrogen fueling station
of the CUTE project. The site tours are part of H2Expos education and
outreach efforts. The expo was the first in Europe to introduce a hydrogen student
workshop and a seminar on stationary fuel cell applications for contractors.
