The proceedings will detail the progress on working groups 1-3, which are Connectors, Tanks and Containers, and Refueling Stations, respectively. Several presentations were offered by staff and invited guests including Tapan Bose and Bill Satterfield. Dr. Bose, Chairman of ISO/TC 197, gave on update on the standardization of hydrogen technologies. A presentation on the insurance industry’s point of view on new technologies was given by Bill Satterfield. He explained the role that codes and standards development will have in mitigating perceived risks and how industry can approach and reduce risk and, therefore, overall costs for risk management.

Tn addition, four new NHA work groups were formed based on the polling of NHA membership. These work groups met, chose chairs, and defined scopes and work plans. WG4 will cover C&S for the use of electrolyzer and fuel cells at customer sites, including homes. WG5 members will direct their attention to self-service refueling. WG6 deals with the coordination that must occur with SAE so that onboard refueling with gaseous or liquid hydrogen is safe and performs to specified vehicle standards. Finally, WG7 will work to identify C&S issues for maritime applications of hydrogen.
